LESSORE, Emil
Émile-Aubert Lessore (1805-1878)(Listed as Emil in the Christie’s Sale Catalogue). Lessore was a French ceramic artist and painter, who lived in England during the 1860’s when he worked for Wedgwood. His son, the painter Jules Lessore, is also represented in the Hill collection. Émile Lessore is also the grandfather of Thérèse Lessore, founding member of the London Group and the third wife of Walter Sickert.
